Countdown to Christmas: Day 18 (calendar freebie!!)

Here’s another fun gift idea. I got this photo frame wheel as a gift one year and it sat there for a while until I thought of using it as a desk calendar. The frames are 3×5 so I used index cards as my base and some Basic Grey papers. It only holds six months at a time (back and front) so you have to replace the calendars half way through the year. I did find one photo wheel online HERE that has six 2×3 frames and would work great for this. I used stickers for the monthly monongrams as each calendar needs to be as flat as possible to fit in the frames.

I created a printable calendar sheet for 2009 (jpeg file) in case you’d like to make your own. You can print it on white cardstock and then punch out each month with a 2″ circle or square punch. The months are in order from left to right, top to bottom. I also created a digital .png file if you’d like to create each calendar page digitally and print them out.

  1. omgosh, what a cute idea! And ANYTHING with Basic Grey papers is beautiful, in my opinion.

I’ve got some BG paper and I think I just saw one of those frame things on sale at Target the other day … what are the odds it’s still there?

  2. I have made some cute little Christmas tags with the number of the day on the front and activities on the back to do each day with my daughter. We read stories, watch a Christmas movie, take food to the local food bank, bake treats for neighbors etc. I hang these cute tags from a mini tree. It's lots of fun for both of us.
