Here’s The Scoop…

…about the baby and the belly. Only because I know some of you out there (yeah, you know who you are) are just dying because you need to see a photo (don’t really know why???) and need to know the scoop. So here’s the word from my lovely and super sweet doctor (she’s my fav): I’m dialated to a 2, 75% efaced, and the baby’s head is low (station +3) so if she doesn’t decide to come before then, I’ll be induced on Saturday, October 3rd early in the morning. Yeehaw!!

And here’s a pic of the belly courtesy of Ashley (age 9)…happy? 😉

And, for your reading pleasure, here’s my Top Ten Thing NOT to Say to an Expectant Mother (based on things that have been said to me recently):

1. “Wow! I didn’t think you could get any bigger in the last 2 days since I saw you, but you sure did!”

2. “Oh my! You’re finally looking REALLY pregnant now!”

3. “You’re certainly much bigger than the last time we saw you!”

4. “Aren’t you bigger this time than you have been with your other pregnancies?”

5. “That baby’s just about to drop out of you! Are you due any day now?” (Asked at 34 weeks)

6. “You’ve got that pregnant glow.” (What exactly does that mean??)

7. “Have you gained a lot of weight with this pregnancy?”

8. “This is number five? Are you crazy??”

9. “You look really uncomfortable!”

10. “You look really tired!”

Kind of funny, and I know people mean well, but let me just say this: think before you speak, people. Think. Please. 😉

  1. Well, I think you look great. These last weeks are so hard, and we already feel so huge, I don't know why people are always having to call attention to it! 🙂 Good luck with everything!

  2. I once had someone ask me if I had talked to my doctor about how much weight I was gaining. 🙂 Good luck with everything, we are thinking about you guys.

  3. you look beautiful! So excited she is almost here! She is going to treasure this photo someday. Take good care of yourself – get a pedicure or something fun – you deserve it!

  4. I was in Gymboree about 1 month after giving birth and my infant dd was in the stroller in front of me when an employee came up to me and said, "So…when are you due?"
    No joke.
You, on the other hand, look beautiful, I hope you feel as good as you look 🙂

  5. Thanks for the update. I can't believe you're due already. Time definitely goes faster over the internet. As for the comments, I think you look great– BTW, I've had at least 3 of those comments in the last 3 months, and I'm not even preggers!

  6. you forgot "i sure hope you lose all that weight after the baby comes"… yes aly, that was seriously said to me by my loving grandfather. good times.
