A few cards

I realized yesterday that there are a some cards I’ve made in the last few months that I haven’t posted yet. So I thought I’d share a few with you. I love using my leftover scraps to make cards for 2 reasons: 1) I don’t feel so wasteful if the scraps go to good use instead of in the trash, 2) I have cards ready when I need them.

Here’s what came about from playing around with my Studio Calico scraps:

These are made from 8.5×11 cardstock. I try to use my old cardstock up when I don’t need a whole 12×12 sheet. I gave these to my mom for Mother’s Day last year. I used my Fiskars border punches and Hero Arts stamps. Simple and pretty.

And last but not least, this is one of my Jillibean Soup projects this month. It’s up on the blog today along with some other awesome cards by the Jillibean girls. The sentiment is by SRM stickers. I love using those because I’m not the biggest stamping or rub-on fan. To ruffle the ribbon, I hand-stitched down the center and them bunched it up before adhering it to the card. I’m also totally into the ever-so-popular handmade flower thing right now. I love handmaking embellishments because they’re pretty AND cheaper than buying them! Cheaper makes me happy. =)

  1. Cute cards. Thanks for sharing your ideas. I also just read the CK March/April issue and saw your layout about baby. So sweet- and I saw you used one of the same border punches. Congrats on being published!
