Three on Thursday: Scrap Your Stash Edition!

I thought I’d share some recent projects that I created using my stash. Each of these is made mostly from product that is at least a year old, in some cases more. I really try to create something using product I already have. Only once in a while will I head to my LSS to buy something new specifically for a project. I’ve found the trick with using old product/trends well is to combine them with new trends and products. They feel new and fresh that way. Take a look…

1. Basic Grey Pheobe papers, AC Remarks letter sticker book (JFK neutral), Sassafras felties combined with a Fiskars border punch, a Martha punch, and machine stitching

2. Old Daisy D’s papers, AC nutmeg glossy thickers combined with fussy cutting, machine stitching, and pleated and stitched ribbon

3. Old Luxe Designs papers, Creative Cafe buttons, inked edges (remember that trend?) combined with handmade flowers

It’s easy to get caught up in using the latest products and trends in scrapbooking. So many adorable new things come out every 6 months, or sometimes more often than that. But using what’s on hand will not only save money, but is much more eco-friendly as well. Most people will have no idea and really, isn’t the point of scrapbooking to create beautiful albums of memories for you and your loved ones to enjoy?
