exciting news, and a give away!

Have you seen this??

Creative Spaces is the latest special issue published by Creating Keepsakes magazine that just hit the newsstands yesterday.  The lovely, sweet, and talented Megan Hoeppner takes readers on a tour of forty-five creative spaces (including mine…squeal), and shares organization and creative solutions for everything from a closet or corner space, to a huge custom built room.  Plus there are some awesome decor and organization project ideas.  Can I just say that I so enjoyed getting a peek at the creative spaces of some very cool scrappy friends–fabulous issue!!  Click HERE for a sneak peek, and don’t forget to check out their blog where they’re celebrating creative spaces all week long.

And here’s a sneak peek of my scrap room. This is my very favorite part–my patterned paper wallpaper border. I just mod podged some cardstock weight patterned paper between double chair rails over a nasty hunting-themed border (no offense to any hunting fans out there).  I’d probably not recommend using the mod podge directly over paint–it may not come off without destroying the dry wall, but with the extra layer of the wallpaper border underneath I’m not worried about it.  Check out page 54 to see more photos and details of my space.

Now, on to the give away!  I have one free copy of this special issue to give away to one of you awesome readers out there.  If you’d like to be considered for this give away, lease a comment on this post by midnight (MDT) on Thursday.  Internationals welcome.  I’ll announce a winner Friday morning!  Good luck!

And if you’d like to buy the issue, the lovely ladies at Creating Keepsakes have agreed to share a coupon code for FREE SHIPPING for you awesome blog readers.  Just CLICK HERE to get to the online store, and enter the following code at check out: SPACESBB.  This code is good for free shipping in the US, and expires 5/27/11.

  1. What a fab idea! I have several favorite paperlines that I would love to display this way and love the fact that it is interchangeable! Thanks so much for the chance to win!

  2. What are you using to hang you layoutsI use clips on tacks and they always swivel. This is just looks perfect. Thanks for sharing

  3. kathy,
I use grip strips. You can buy them at office or teacher supply stores. They don't bend or make holes in your pages and you can easily rotate them.

  4. This special issue is probably going to make me drool but oh well, I still would love it! 😀
PS: I would never have thought to put scrapbooking paper on my walls but the effect is really fun!

  5. My most favorite part of my craft space (aka one of the back spare bedrooms) is that when I open either of the 2 windows I can hear the ocean! AND it is truly MY space……I can leave it in the middle of a project and not worry about one little scrap of paper, embellishment, or idea left out on my desk top, my dear Hubby knows not to tamper with whatever *genious* creation is in the mix! 🙂

  6. Loving the sneak peek of your studio, can't wait to see the rest of it! One of my scrappy firends and I were just talking about this special issue, so fun to see a peek! TX!

  7. Now, I'm even more excited to receive this issue, even without the generous free shipping code. The previews I've seen have been awesome. I ordered it right away last week when I got CK's email, and received my shipping email this morning. I can't wait to see your space!

  8. I tried to comment the other day, but Blogger was acting all wonky!!
I wanted to tell you congrats on having your space included in this issue. I ordered it when I first saw previews of it, and can't wait to get it and check out your space. It looks awesome!
