I honestly haven’t had to deal with much death in my life. Until a few years ago. My dear husband lost his brother unexpectedly to a heart attack at the much too young age of 40.
David, we miss you and we love you dearly.
Then a year later my uncle passed away.
Uncle Dick, your humor, smile, and kindness are missed. We love you.
And a few months after that my aunt died too young of cancer.
Aunt Chris, you were an inspiration of love, loyalty, humility, and faith. You are missed and so loved.
And then we lost our dear sweet friend, Dephilia Lastra, who fought hard. She fought for her family, for her faith, and she fought her cancer to the last.
You are truly an inspiration and have blessed all who knew you. We miss you.
This, my friends, is why I take insane amounts of photos, scrapbook them, journal about them, and keep this blog. Photos and memories have brought us such immense comfort over the last few years. I don’t know how I would deal with these losses without them. Please take pictures, preserve them, and write about the people you love. Then take some time to enjoy them.
Have a blessed Memorial Day.
