i {heart} echo park paper co.

Over the past year I’ve had the pleasure of creating with some of the delicious Echo Park Paper Co. collections.  They are truly one of my favorite manufacturers out there right now.  I love their clean, colorful, playful designs.  They just make me smile.  So, I thought I would share some of the projects I’ve created with their collections as well as some tutorials on how to create some of the projects.  Enjoy!

1) This altered notebook was one of my first Echo Park projects:

I used patterned papers, journaling cards, borders, alphas, and cardstock stickers from their Life Is Good line.  For full instructions on how to create this CLICK HERE.

2) Recently I shared this layout about my daughter’s accomplishments this year:

I used the patterned paper, journaling cards, and borders from their Little Boy collection.  You don’t always have to use boy products for boy pages!  For instructions on how to create the funky flowers on this layout, CLICK HERE.

3) And lastly, I created this baby boy gift set for my husband’s niece who is expecting her second boy:

The gift is a baby sling and I just created an 8.5×12 inch paper band to go around it with a 4×4 card to match.  Again I used the papers, journaling cards, and borders from the Little Boy collection.  Below are how-to’s for creating the dimensional flower on the card, and the paper bow on the gift:

  

To create the dimensional flowers, punch out two flowers and curl the petals of one of them toward the flower’s center.  Layer the two flowers with a brad or button in the center.

To create the paper bow, cut thirteen paper strips: eight 0.5 x 3.5 inch strips, four 0.5 x 3 inch strips, and one 0.5 x 2.5 inch strip.  Loop them and adhere the ends with permanent glue dots as seen in the photo.  The smallest strip is the one looped in a full circle.  Adhere the ends of four of the largest strips together, repeat that step, and then adhere the ends of the four medium sized strips together.  Stack them on top of each other using pop dots with the two groups of the largest strips on the bottom, the group of medium ones in the middle, and the smallest single circle loop on top.
