from sunny southern cali

Hello from sunny southern California!  I’ve been here all weekend at the Craft and Hobby Association Trade Show scoping out the latest and greatest products and trends in the scrapbooking, cardmaking, and paper crafts industry.

I’ve got SO much to share and I took SO many photos, but I thought I’d start out with some of the amazingly talented (and totally famous!) people I’ve hung out with and met this weekend.  I was privileged to walk the floor, eat, and scare (with my inept LA traffic driving skills) the adorable and oh-so-talented Marnie Flores:

She is one lean, mean, floor-walking machine (not to mention about the sweetest person around), and we were able to cover all of your favorite manufacturers and meet lots of awesome scrapbookers (plus someone I never thought we’d bump into).  We spent the day Sunday with Donna Januzzi, a Write.Click.Scrapbook. team member and Ella Publishing Co ebook author.  She is super sweet and so courageous for taking on the CHA floor a few short weeks from the birth of her sweet baby boy:
We bumped into the phenomenal Stacy Julian (Big Picture Classes) as well as some of her people (Wendy Smedley):
Also the lovely Angie Lucas from Ella Publishing:
Loved meeting Shemaine Smith and friends at the My Little Shoebox booth:
It was a pleasure to meet Deana Wuest, CK editorial team member, digital scrapbooking queen, and former CK HOF and Scrapbooker of the Year finalist.  She was so sweet, down-to-to earth, and easy to talk to:
Never thought I’d get the fun chance to see gorgeous Tori Spelling!
She was there launching her new DIY jewelry line with Darice.  I was pleasantly surprised with how hands-on and involved she clearly has been with this whole endeavor, and she was very sweet.
Of course there were many others we met and chatted with, but I didn’t take photos of everyone.  (Bad scrapbooker, bad!)  I’ll be back later with some of my projects for the show and some more on new products and trends I noticed this year.  Gotta hit the airport for my flight back to the snow and cold…and my wonderful family that I miss!
