creative memories projects: spring has sprung!

Quick announcement: I’m participating in the Creative Memories Virtual Crop this weekend!  Tons of awesome challenges!  CLICK HERE to find out more.

Spring is here people!  Can I get a woo hoo?!?  I love spring–the sunshine and warmer weather, the new growth, the celebration of Easter and Christ’s resurrection.  It all just makes me happy. =)  Here are a couple of spring scrapbook layouts that you can find on the Creative Memories Traditional Project Center.

This page features my youngest daughter who discovered bugs last spring when the weather turned warm and we started spending more time outside.  She is a VERY active little thing, but she would stay occupied for 20 or 30 minutes watching the bugs we would find outside.

I thought it would be fun to do a layout using only cardstock and no patterned paper–yikes!  It was a challenge but also lots of fun coming up with clever ways to use all the awesome Creative Memories tools and decorative cardstock to create the scene on this layout.  The stickers just add to the spring time feel of it.

This layout again features my youngest whose other favorite warm weather activity is blowing bubbles.  She needed a little help last spring, but I’m hoping this spring she’ll be able to blow them all on her own. =)

Although nothing looks particularly challenging about this layout, I do have to point out that it was a bit outside of my comfy scrapping box.  Huh? (you’re probably thinking…)  I’ll tell you why: I almost always cluster my photos together in a neat little collage or line.  I just like things on my page compartmentalized–here’s all my photos over here, here’s my title, here’s my journaling, etc.  It was a stretch for me to place my photos so far away from each other (I know…sounds silly), but I totally love how it turned out!  And now I find myself doing this more often.  Yay for trying new things!
