anna griffin cuttlebug embossing folders: part 3

When I think of embossing, I usually think of cardmaking.  But, working with these wonderful Anna Griffin Cuttlebug Embossing Folders helped be jump outside my cozy creative box and try some embossing on scrapbook layouts.  Check out the results:

A few tips I came across on this layout: If you cut your paper just slightly thinner than the width between the hinges on the top of the folder you can run the paper through once, then then line it up on the pattern and run it through a second time with the excess hanging out the top of the folder.  Make sense?  I’m considering doing a tutorial on this…not sure yet. =)  Also, you can run die cut accents through to add some extra dimension to your layers.

For this layout I embossed squares of subtle patterned papers, then sanded them lightly, distressed the edges, and stitched them to the background.  To create the photo frame I punched some borders and then ran them through the Cuttlebug.

This layout incorporates lots of continuous embossing on lots of layers, subtle inking, and embossed accents.  I also embossed my journaling spot after I wrote my journaling on it.  The layers look very cool when attached with foam squares for added dimension!

  1. You have absolutely GOT to do some videos on this. I just got the Anna Griffin Cuttlebug recently(just received my second set of autoship folders from HSN). I have been looking at them and going DUH, what do I do now. And haven't been able to find ANYTHING on the web, until I found your blog. LUV these layouts. Absolutely beautiful. I scrap but don't do cards much yet, and most cuttlebug stuff is on cards. Thank You.
