final creative memories projects, and a sad goodbye

Many of you have no doubt already heard the news that Creative Memories filed for bankruptcy and is laying off (or has already) more than half of their 230 employees.  It breaks my heart to see this, and my thoughts are with those talented wonderful ladies who have lost their livelihood.  Sadly the design team has been disbanded   It was an honor to work with some of the kindest and most talented scrapbookers I know.  While I love the talented ladies I got to work with there and will miss them so much, I’m excited for new opportunities to look forward to in the future!

Just so you CM fans know, operations will continue as normal and consultants will still be selling their products so you can count on those fabulous goodies you love–they won’t be going anywhere!

Thought I would share my final Creative Memories projects I created using some of the new products. First off is a simple spring themed page.

This layout about the hope that the first spring blooms bring features some new papers from the Candy Shop and It’s A Girl collections as well as the new Shape Maker System.  I cut the punched circles in half to create a faux scallop border.

For this two page layout I used the new Candy Shop Power Palette.  The fun bright colors and geometric patterns compliment these park photos of my sweet girls well.  Again, I used the Shape Maker System (with the square cartridge) to create a border housing some fun layered stickers.

Lastly, I recorded our Easter activities from last year using the new Vintage Chic Power Palette.  I love the unexpected color scheme and the fun tags, tabs, and envelopes.

Goodbye to my wonderful friends, and to Creative Memories.  I wish you all the best, and feel so blessed to have been a part of such a great team!

  1. I had not heard about CM filing chapter 11 until reading your website but I am not the least bit surprised since they lost me as a customer several years ago. This was written on the wall for me as well as others and I’m sorry they couldn’t see it themselves until now. There was a time when I owned at least one of almost everything in their entire catalog until they lost their vision by trying to follow everyone else in the industry rather than having their own style. Now however, I found your site because I’m an avid Anna Griffin fan. Talk about being true to your style?!! Her products are BEAUTIFUL and you are so absolutely talented with her products. Thank you .. and many will be going on my Pinterest boards
