Recently I’ve had the opportunity to work with a new (to me) publication, Crafts ‘N’ Things magazine, through the manufacturers I design for. This graduation card I created using Anna Griffin products was featured in the April 2013 issue, and I thought I would share it with you.
To make the stitched border I ran the card front through my sewing machine (shallow zig zag stitch) with no thread to punch a hole pattern. Then I went back with some floss and handstitched the border. This takes a little extra time, but I like using the thicker floss sometimes rather than thin thread so that the border really pops. And there’s nothing quite as precise as a sewing machine for creating stitching hole patterns.
I placed my sentiment in the card center, and then clustered/collaged several elements together around it. To finish off the card I stamped a little banner flag and mounted it on a straight pin. Hope this card inspires you. Happy crafting!
Really pretty card!
