a christmas page

I hope your Christmas was wonderful yesterday, and that you made lots of precious memories.  Christmas day was awesome with lots of fun family time together.  But, I do sometimes struggle with balancing taking photos of the wonderful moments and being in those wonderful moments.

So, this year I decided to record our family Christmas celebrations with photos taken before the big day, and then to just sit back and enjoy myself on Christmas day.

I went with one of my favorite go-to designs that looks great but is super quick and easy–layered strips.  I gathered some patterned paper from We R Memory Keeper’s North Pole collection and some coordinating washi tape and layered strips of varying lengths.

To finish off the page I added a few details–some washi covered hex die cuts, an embossed holly sticker, and a die cut evergreen.  I also punched one paper strip with my Trellis 2 Edge Punch to add a little texture.

I also experimented with some ink splatters on this page.  I’ve never been much of a mister or inker, but I love the sparkly holiday feel the little splatters add to the page.
