valentine’s day ideas: part 2

The second part of my Valentine’s Day Ideas series focuses on some fun home decor projects.  Take a look at how you can use your scrapbook supplies to spruce up your home this Valentine’s Day.

Valentine Photo Collage

If you’re looking for a Valentine’s Day gift idea for your sweetheart, or a classy decor piece, then consider making a framed photo collage.  I gathered several recent “sefie” shots of me and my hubby and put them together to make this.
I cut a piece of white textured cardstock to fit my 8×10 frame, and then trimmed my black and white photos to 2×2 inches. Then I cut photo corners in the cardstock with my Corner Mounter and added my photos, replacing a few with a block of patterned paper and stickers.

What’s so cool about using the Corner Mounter is that I can swap out the photos and patterned paper blocks anytime I want since they aren’t adhered to the background.  I can even change them up for each holiday or occasion–pretty cool, huh?

LOVE Banner

Washi tape is one of my favorite products lately.  It’s easy to use, versatile, and adds a fun pop of color to your projects.  Speaking of versatile, not only can washi tape be used as a decorative element, but it can also be used to create lettering.  Check out the Valentine’s Day banner I made below using Onyx Washi Tape to create the letters.

For the background of each banner flag I used some vintage sheet music I picked up at a thrift store.  I added blocks of white textured cardstock and frame tags from the Crazy For You collection.  Then I added strips of washi tape to create the letters for each flag.

I finished off my banner by adding Eyelets in the flag corners with my Crop-A-Dile, and running a length of Red Baker’s Twine through the eyelets for hanging.
