I hope you’re enjoying the summer season as much as I am. I love the warmer weather, and to celebrate I made this summer-themed card with the Walking on Sunshine 6×6 Pad and the Sun and Clouds Designer Die Set.
I die cut some clouds out of a 5 ½” x 4 ¼” piece of plain white cardstock and used the negative space leftover as my card base. I backed the cut out clouds with blue patterned paper from the Walking on Sunshine 6×6 Pad, and then added some clear glass micro-beads at the bottom of each cloud for a bit of dimension and sparkle.
I wanted my sun die cut to be multi-color, so I die cut three different sun shapes from two yellow papers, and one orange paper. Then I cut the sun rays off of the two yellow suns and added them to the orange one, alternating colors.
You can use this paper-piecing technique with almost any die shape to get a fun colorful look! I finished off my card by adding a die cut sentiment, some yellow and orange gems and by outlining the cut out cloud shapes with a blue fine tip marker.
