I love to scrapbook heritage photos and the sweet new Simple Life collection is perfect for that! I’d like to share with you today a two page scrapbook layout that I created using the Simple Life collection and the coordinating Simple Flowers Designer Dies.
After creating a nice place for my photos to reside I had some space left on my layout, so I decided to add a section to highlight the adorable Simple Flowers Dies. I created a grid background and cut dies from three different color papers from the Simple Life 6×6 Paper Pad. I love to use the 6×6 papers for punching and die cutting so I don’t have to cut small pieces from my full 12×12 papers.
I created some “puzzle piece” flowers using the dies. The layers of puzzle piece flowers fit inside each other like a puzzle piece rather than being stacked one of top of the other. To create puzzle piece flowers first I placed a 6×6 piece of paper on my die cutting platform.
Then I placed the larger flower die face down, and then the smaller flower die inside the larger one. Then I ran the platform through my die cutting machine and out came two separate pieces—one inside the other.
I mixed and matched different color puzzle pieces together, and place them inside the grid squares on my layout. I love how the die cuts turned out!
