card week: day 1

To celebrate the start this Thursday of my latest Big Picture Classes workshop, 28 in 2 Weeks, I’m hosting a week’s worth of card inspiration my blog. Some of the cards I’ll share are new, and some are favorites I’ve created over the years. For more card ideas and inspiration, register for my workshop HERE, or visit the Big Picture Classes Card Ideas Pinterest Board HERE. Enjoy!

Using Sketches

Using Sketches when making cards can be very useful and a great time saver. They help take the guesswork out of the design process, but still allow for your own creative interpretation. To demonstrate this I created two projects (a card and a tag) using the same sketch as inspiration.

Here’s the sketch I created and used as inspiration for my two projects. And here are the projects I made.

Can you see the sketch in both of these? For the tag I stuck pretty closely to the sketch. For the card I rotated the sketch 180 degrees. For more details about these projects plus some great tips for using sketches, visit the We R blog HERE.
Check back Wednesday for more card inspiration!
