let the halloween fun begin

Today is October 1st and that means Halloween project posts may now officially begin on my blog! Yay! To start off the Halloween inspiration this month I’ve got two fun projects to share. The first one is a handy Chalkboard Halloween Countdown that I made for the We R Memory Keepers blog.

I used some Frame Nesting Dies by Lifestyle Crafts to cut out a piece of chalkboard vinyl where I can write the numbers to count down to Halloween. I also used some Shape Dies, an Alpha Die, and a Punch Die from Lifestyle Crafts. You can find more details about this project on the We R blog HERE.

The second project is a fun little piece of decor–a witch’s hat made with the Ghost Town Mini Theme from Echo Park!

This was super easy to make by cutting out a 7 1/2″ circle with a 3″ hole in the center. Then I cut several 1/4″ slits in the hole and placed adhesive over them. I created a cone shape 3″ wide at the base and placed it over the hole, bending the slits up and sticking them to the inside of the cone to secure it. Then I embellished it, and voila! For more details visit the Echo Park Paper blog HERE.

Are you working on any Halloween projects right now? Do you have any plans for some projects? Please share!

  1. Seriously? That's the cutest little countdown….and I have to check out the Dollar Store. Did you paint that frame, or was it that way? So perfectly cute! Me….I don't do much for Halloween, although I did just switch out my planters for some pansies and got some of those cute little mini cypress trees to put in the pots, too. A bit of a splurge, but they make me happy.

  2. Both projects are adorable. Am going to try them both. I have a granddaughter whose favorite color is purple. She would just love the hat! Problem is I have four other grandkids in that house to make something for. Will see if I can make these with supplies I have on hand. Well, I'd better get busy.
