Here’s a little World Card Making Day inspiration for you today. This is a card I made using the Simple Life collection by Echo Park Paper, as well as the Simple Picnic Basket Designer Die Set. I don’t know about you, but our fall started late this year and all of September felt like summer so this card feels perfect right about now. =)
“Berry Card” by Aly Dosdall
Dimensions: 4 ¼“ x 5 ½“
Supplies: Simple Life 6×6 Paper Pad, Simple Life Element Stickers, Simple Life Alpha Stickers, Simple Picnic Basket Designer Dies, white cardstock card base, baker’s twine, brads, foam squares, font (Typewriter)
Instructions:
- Trim a 4 ¼ x 5 ½ inch piece of pink floral 6×6 paper to cover the card base. Layer a 4 x 5 ¼ inch piece of green polka dot paper over the pink paper.
- Trim a 3 ½ x 3 inch piece of light pink leaf patterned paper and add it to the top half of the card with foam squares. Trim a 3 ½ x 2 inch piece of red patterned paper and add it to the bottom half of the card with foam squares. Cover the seam with the “love you so” border sticker, and then add some baker’s twine.
- Die cut the bottom of the basket from yellow striped paper, the handle and top of the basket from black floral paper, and the strawberries from red and green paper. Assemble the berries and basket die cuts at the top of the card adding a mini brad to the handle, and using foam squares on the handle and top of the basket for dimension.
- Finish off the card with a printed sentiment layered over a mini label sticker, and add a few more brads.
If you’re looking for something with more of a fall feel, you could always add acorns or fall leaves inside the basket and use some fall themed papers. I hope you’ve enjoyed this little WCD tutorial. Have a great day, and happy card making!
