handbag favor boxes

I don’t think I’ve ever won anything in my life. (Okay, maybe an essay contest in 3rd grade but that doesn’t count.) At least I hadn’t until I attended an awesome local blogger conference and won myself a Silhouette Cameo of all things! I was beyond thrilled (my family can confirm that I actually screamed and jumped around) and couldn’t wait to create with it. My very first project using my new Cameo was some Handbag Favor Boxes I made for a women’s meeting at my church.

Out of the box the Silhouette Cameo comes with some preloaded cut files you can use, and this cute little DIY favor box is one.

Three Hershey’s Nuggets fit perfectly inside these, and you don’t need any adhesive to securely shut them. I used some Ombre Essentials and Dots & Stripes: Spring papers from Echo Park Paper Co.

I had to make 40 of these and it didn’t take me nearly as long as I expected. The Cameo does it’s job quickly, the paper was easy to remove from the cutting mat, and these little favor boxes assemble and close quickly. The ladies loved them, and I loved putting them together.

These would make perfect favors for a baby or bridal shower, a girl’s birthday party, or they would make great teacher thank you gifts as well.

  1. The boxes are so cute! i have a silhouette portrait which I love. This design was not loaded on my machine and I was hoping you could tell me the design number as I have not been able to find it in the store. I would love to make the favors for a foster carer group I belong to here in Australia. Thank you

  2. These are so cute! I have looked for the pattern for the favor boxes. No success. Can you provide the # to the pattern?

  3. Hi ladies,

Since this item was preloaded onto my Cameo it doesn't have a design number, it's simply called "purse" in my library. But I did find when I right clicked on the image and selected "properties" that it gave three keywords (purse, bag, 3D) and it gave the category as "3D Crafts".

I don't know if that helps you or not, but maybe you can contact Silhouette America if you still can't find it with that info.

    Wish I had more info–sorry!

  4. Great project idea. I am involved in a variety of groups where these would make great table decorations/table gifts. I have an older Cameo, but hopeful that you can share how others can purchase this design. I sure hope it gets released on the Silhouette site.

  6. Hello! That cut file is no longer available in the Silhouette Store. It was part of a special package I got with my Cameo. I'm sorry, but I can't share it without violating copyright laws. I'll look around the internet and see if there's anything similar available.
