masculine scrapbook pages

For most scrapbookers creating masculine layouts, or male themed projects is a challenge. Most paper collections are feminine, and let’s face it–men are sometimes difficult to snap photos of and write about. =) Since today’s my hubby’s birthday I thought it would be fun to share some of the projects I’ve created for him or about him in the last year or two to inspire your masculine scrapbook pages.

The paper collections that I’ve used on masculine projects are usually generic in theme (with a few exceptions). If I do use a themed collection I try to pull out the more muted, masculine colors and patterns (like stripes, polkas, and geometric patterns) and stick with those. Looking through these projects, I used a lot of blues, aquas, greens, yellows, and oranges in my masculine pages. Arrows, stars, tags, labels, and the occasional heart are pretty safe shapes to use on masculine pages.

I hope these projects are helpful for those of you that need to create masculine scrapbook pages and projects. I’ll leave you with links to two of my favorite scrapbookers who have only boys, and who make awesome masculine pages: Jennifer Larson and Donna Jannuzzi. Enjoy!
