7th day of christmas: piñata ornament favor

Here’s a fun idea for a new holiday tradition–mini piñata ornament favors! This star mini piñata from We R Memory Keepers can be filled with small toys and treats, decorated, and then hung on the tree Christmas Eve.

When the kids wake up Christmas morning they can remove them from the tree, give the tassel pull tab a yank, and enjoy watching their little Christmas goodies fall out of the piñata! So fun!

Before decorating the mini piñata, I tied silver cording at the top for hanging, and then tied a We R Memory Keepers Mini Piñata silver tassel pull tab to the breakaway opening at the bottom.

I covered the outside of the piñata with some patterned paper from Heidi Swapp’s Minc collection that I covered in red foil. I just love that buffalo plaid for the holidays!

To finish off my piñata ornament favor I added some die cut holly leaves, and a die cut deer head with a red sequin nose. While this ornament favor is for Christmas celebrations, these darling Mini Piñatas come in several different shapes and are perfect for almost any occasion.
