12th day of christmas: merry christmas + a family tradition

Merry Christmas crafty friends! I hope your day is filled with peace, joy, and precious time with loved ones. Today I’m sharing a moving video that shares what Christmas means to me and my family. I’m also sharing one of our Christmas morning family traditions. Enjoy!

Not much more needs to be said after watching this video other than I’m so very grateful for the greatest gift ever given–that a Savior was born.

Here’s my favorite yearly shot of the Christmas Eve Tree after Santa’s finished his work and everyone’s gone to bed. I love the peace and joy of this image.

On Christmas morning, our family has a tradition of waiting until everyone gets up to open presents. We take turns watching each other open them, and start with the youngest first. That way we can all see the joy that each gift brings each member of our family. It does take a while, but it’s so much fun and really helps us capture the true meaning of Christmas for our family.

I wish each of you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
