paper fringe project ideas

This morning I had the pleasure of shooting another segment for a popular local lifestyle show, Studio 5. Last time I filmed a Studio 5 segment, I talked about honeycomb paper party decor. This time I shared another fun paper craft technique perfect for creating show-stopping party decorations–paper fringe!

The fringe trend is resurging in fashion, home decor, and textiles. It’s a festive throwback with the perfect mix of texture and color. Fringe has been popular in the papercraft industry for a while, though mostly seen as fringe tassels on balloons and fringe garlands/banners. It’s spilling over now into just about every element of party decor you can imagine!

Check out how I added fringe to a wedding scrapbook page, some DIY wedding invitations, and a plain gift box.

You can also add fringe to DIY mini piñatas, and other home decor items such as an old globe, or deer head.

It’s easy to add fringe to handmade cards, gift bags, and other party decorations. Really, the sky’s the limit!

In my segment I share three easy way to add fringe to paper craft projects. Stay tuned over the next few weeks and I’ll share some tutorials for creating some of these projects using some fabulous tools and products available right now. See you then!
