Yesterday I shared some paper fringe projects on a local lifestyle show, Studio 5. One of the projects I shared was a fringe wedding backdrop that was super easy to make. It includes a background and the initials of the bride and groom, and it’s made completely out of paper fringe! I created a matching wedding fringe set which I’ll share with you another day, but here it is all together with the backdrop. I love the fringe with the ombre pattern.
The base of the background is a 4 foot sheet of butcher paper, but you could also use four large sheets of poster board. The base of the letters is smaller poster board, so this is a relatively inexpensive project. Once I had my bases cut and ready to go, I cut several strips of 12 inch American Crafts and Bazzill cardstock, and used my We R Memory Keepers Fringe and Score Board to cut fringe into the strips. I added the cardstock fringe to the butcher paper and poster board in an ombre pattern. Be sure to use a strong adhesive, like hot glue or permanent double-sided craft tape. You can use scissors to cut off any excess. It’s easiest if you flip the project over to the back when trimming.
Once both the letters and the background are finished, adhere the letters to the background.
This project would also make a great photo backdrop for any party of other occasion. Just swap out the colors to match the theme or color scheme of your event. It took me two evenings–one for the background, and one for the letters. Not too bad!
