It’s Birthday Week over on the We R Memory Keepers blog, so today I’m sharing some pretty cupcake wraps and toppers for a birthday party that I made with some of my favorite We R tools. The colors I chose are inspired by spring, but you can make these in different colors to fit your needs. Then I used the Heidi Swapp Minc to add a very special finishing touch.

I made the number 8 because that’s the birthday my youngest daughter will be celebrating. You can make any number or letter for your toppers–simply follow the instructions in the included booklet. Then I used the DIY Party Board to make my cupcake wraps.
I trimmed my cardstock to 7×7 inches (as explained on the board) and then followed the instructions to cut a cupcake wrap. CLICK HERE for an overview video of the tool on the We R YouTube channel.
Before assembling the cupcake wraps and toppers, I added some beautiful foil polka dots with Heidi Swapp toner reactive paint, a stencil, a foam makeup applicator, some foil sheets and my Minc. I love the organic, handmade look of the toner paint. Mixed media fans will love it too! Once I finished “minc-ing” my party decor, I assembled my wraps with Sticky Thumb Double Sided Red Tape.
Then I cut a section of some striped paper straws and attached them to the back of the cupcake toppers so I could insert them in the cupcakes. I love using the paper straws for toppers–they’re not only decorative and colorful, but you know they’re food safe as well.
Thanks for joining me today! I hope this project has inspired you to get out your favorite crafting tools for your next birthday celebration. Happy crafting friends!
Super fun!
