thanksgiving hostess gift idea

Hello friends! Today I want to share a cute and practical project idea to help stretch your crafting budget. This year I collected lots of adorable Halloween papers and embellishments thinking I would use all of them, of course. How’s my project list coming? I think it’s safe to say I have a bit more Halloween product leftover than I had planned, LOL!
Don’t put those Halloween collections away quite yet. You can still put them to good use over the next few weeks so you can get a bit more mileage out of them even if Halloween is over. Check out these Thanksgiving hostess gifts I made with my some…wait for it…Halloween papers!

It was easy to make these! I selected some of the less Halloween-themed papers from the Pink Paislee Spellcast collection that include fall colors, and then grabbed some of my favorite We R tools.

I followed the directions on the DIY Party Board to make treat cones, and cut my paper according to the directions. I love that everything I need is right on the board!

I assembled my treat cones, filled them with goodies, and then closed the top flaps with my favorite adhesive when working with 3D paper crafts–Red Double Sided Sticky Tape from American Crafts. Can’t live without it.
Next, I made some simple gift tags using my Hexagon Clear Cut Punch and one of the papers from the collection. I used my punch to capture select patterns from the paper. Using the “punch anywhere” feature, I was able to use the exact spot on my 12×12 paper that I wanted. There are so many possibilities with the Clear Cut Punches!

I used some Heidi Swapp planner alpha stickers to add sentiments to the hexagon tags. Then I cut out some gold foil monograms from the vellum paper in the collection, and added them together with the hex tags I punched. Including a silk fall leaf with the tags adds the perfect touch for Thanksgiving! I punched them all with my Crop-A-Dile and then attached an eyelet where I threaded some gold Stitch Happy Metallic Thread and tied it in a bow.

I used my double sided red tape again to attached the completed tags to the treat cones. I love how they turned out!

I also love that I was able to use my tools to help make the most out of my Halloween themed paper collection. Being able to select the exact fall colors and patterns I wanted from the collection really helps to stretch it farther than I could otherwise.
Thanks for joining me today. Happy fall crafting!
