Hello crafty friends, and Happy (almost) Halloween! This is such a fun time of year and one of my kids’ favorite to decorate for. There are so many different directions you can go in when it comes to DIY Halloween Decor–you can do cute and cuddly, scary and gory, creepy and dark. I’ve got some fun Halloween decor ideas that are easy to do and perfect for a kids Halloween party or class party at school. Take a look at my Googly Eye Halloween Party!

This year I’m really loving the classic black and white color scheme for Halloween decor, and it’s a perfect foundation for an event for children, adults, or teens. All you need to do is make or find circles. Yes, it’s that easy!
For example, to create this googly eye party backdrop I grabbed some cardboard cake circles from the baking aisle at Walmart, and some black plastic dessert plates from the dollar store. I hot glued the plates upside down on the cardboard, layered the circles together with some hot glue, and I ended up with a some cool Halloween party decor in mintues!
To make the Googly Eye Garland, I punched out the letters from black cardstock with my We R Memory Keepers Alphabet Punch Board, and then I made a bunch of black and white paper circles with the new Circle Spin & Trim circle cutter from We R Memory Keepers. I taped them to some black twine, and hung it up on the wall with some grey washi tape.
I found this Googly Eye Piñata at Walmart in the Halloween section. It came with red bloodshot streaks, and a realistic looking green iris. I wanted to keep the black and white cartoonish look to my party, so I gently pulled off the red streak of tissue paper and covered the green iris with black ink. I love how it turned out!
The jar of googly eyes was made from ping pong balls that I colored with a black sharpie. It makes a great Halloween table centerpiece or it can also be used for a game of “eye spy” during the party. Just hide ping pong eyeballs throughout the house, and the party guest that finds the most wins a prize.
I love using letter boards for home and party decor. They’re so versatile and are a great investment for any home. This one is DCWV Inc letter board that you can find at Joann Stores. It’s on the smaller end for letter boards which makes it perfect to add to a party table with a fun quote, information, or party theme. I simply cut paper circles with the Circle Spin & Trim, added some enamel dots to some, and taped them to the board with washi tape.
The party favors are small paper pockets I made with some black & white paper scraps from my paper stash. You can find a full tutorial for making them on the We R Memory Keepers blog HERE.
These Googly Eye Cups are made from black party cups I got at the dollar store, plus some self-adhesive googly eyes from the craft store. This would be a great activity to do during the party. The kids would love to make their own cups!
Let’s finsh off with some Halloween treat ideas! I bought simple vanilla and chocolate cupcakes from the bakery, added simple cupcake wraps make from black paper, and then I made some 2 inch googly eyes from black and white paper, and hot glue them to some black and white striped paper straws.
This is another fun activity you could have the kids do during the party! Take some powdered sugar donuts (small or large, raspberry filling encouraged), add some white frosting to the center, and stick an oreo cookie on it to make edible googly eyes!
I threw in a bit of purple for some color, but you could keep the basic black and white, or add neon colors and do a monster party.
