Now that I’m not totally focused on Christmas, I just had to share a fun party favor idea for New Year’s Eve using one of my favorite new tools, the Glue Quill along with my Silhouette Cameo 3.

I really love ombre designs and wanted to replicate the look with glitter. What better time to create a project with an ombre glitter effect than for New Year’s Eve, right!? And there’s no easier way to create a professional looking glitter design on your projects than with the Glue Quill and an electronic cutting machine!
The Glue Quill is a glue pen attachment for you cutting machine. It doesn’t require power and can fit into your pen holder or blade holder depending on the type of cutting machine you have. You can use SVG files from the Foil Quill Design Drives or from your own library of files. I used a design from the We R Holiday USB Design Drive. Check out the step-by-step video tutorial below!
While this project is for New Year’s Eve, you can create this same ombre glitter effect on projects for any theme–birthdays, Christmas, baby or bridal showers, anniversaries, etc.
Simply switch out the artwork for something that fits with your celebration theme, and switch out glitter colors to coordinate. Just remember to choose one light color, one medium, and one dark.
