craft room storage solutions

Hello friends! Like many of you, now that the holidays are over I’ve been working on getting my craft room cleaned up and organized. I’m trying to make sure I store things in the most efficient way so that I’ll actually get them out and use them. Today I’ve got some tips for storing and organizing your craft supplies. For a while I’ve had a few problem spots in my craft room. I’ve known they need reorganization, but I wasn’t sure how to go about it and I didn’t want to take a lot of time.

Enter the new We R Plastic Storage! The 3 Tier Snap Box and the Craft Tool Box are the perfect solutions for getting my embossing tape and folders, and my Stitch Happy thread and accessories organized and easy to find. The sizes and variety of dividers fit my needs perfectly!

Let’s start with my Stitch Happy thread, accessories and punch needle supplies. Up until recently I kept all these items in a simple basket, which kept everything together but made it difficult to find the item I was looking for. The thread on my spools and bobbins came unwound, and I worried about my threaders getting damaged. The Craft Tool Box works perfectly for keeping everything separate and safe, and I love that I can see through the box and easily identify what’s inside.

The top shelf fits my Stitch Happy scissors, needles, threader and solid thread perfectly. The dividers are arranged so the sections are different sizes, which is really helpful for storing different size items.

The second level fits my bobbins perfectly, my Stitch Happy Baker’s Twine and my metallic thread. Again, the sections are divided into different sizes which works perfectly for both bobbins and thread spools.

The bottom of the box has no dividers, so it’s perfect for larger items. This is where my Stitch Happy Pen, frame, stencils and accessories live. I love keeping these items all together so I can either sew by hand, or with my Stitch Happy sewing machine easily. All I need to do is grab my Craft Tool Box!

My next problem spot was my embossing tape and folder storage. I basically had everything tossed in a bin and still in the packaging, so I’m glad I have them organized properly now.

I divided the tape up by color family (warm, cool, metallic + neutral) and stored each in a separate tier of the Snap Box. Since the dividers are removeable, I also included embossing folders and a mini rotary cutter in the tiers by removing the two middle dividers on one side.

I love that the box has three tiers that snap together so I can keep everything well organized, but I can also grab the supplies all together at the same time when I’m ready to do some embossing. Keeping all the supplies together for one type of craft is a great way to save time and frustration.
