Hello hello friends! School is official over here, and we’re gearing up for summer. With the current situation it’s a challenge to come up with fun activities for my youngest daughter that doesn’t involve busy public places and play dates at friends’ houses. I really want her to still feel she’s having a good break from school, so today I’m sharing a something I created for my daughter’s room. She’s worked so hard this school year and learned so much! She’s reached her academic goals, so I wanted to surprise her with some new room decor.

She’s our little fish! She loves to swim and is on our local swim team. She’s also really obsessed with narwhals right now and her name is Faith, so I decided to grab my Big Happy Jig and a few colors of Neon Wire and this is what I came up with!

To create these designs I started by checking out the dedicated Happy Jig Instagram freed (@werhappyjig). That’s where I found the narwhal template–score! I pulled up Instagram on my laptop to make the template large enough to follow easily.

Then, I used some of the word templates on the IG account that have the letters I needed to piece together my daughter’s name. The waves are a design I created on my own with a little trial and error.

I used some coordinating Happy Jig wire to hold sections of the designs together to help keep their shape. I’m really happy with how they all turned out!

I grabbed a 12×18 poster frame from another project I never started (yes, I have a few of those lying around in my office). I filled the frame with a 12×18 sheet of white poster board. Then I used dimensional clear adhesive dots to attach two of the designs to the frame, and wrapped the battery packs around the back of the frame to attach them out of sight.

I hung the frame on the wall with some Command Hooks, and then placed the waves on the desk leaning against the wall. I put a plant next to the waves to hide the battery pack. There are lots of creative ways to hide those little guys!

I love that the battery pack has four setting: Off, On-Solid, On-Flashing, and On-Rapid Flashing. That means my daughter has plenty of options for her new room decor.

She loves that it represents her, and I love that it’s a fun and colorful framed piece during the day and then at night it’s the perfect night light for my daughter’s room.
