Hey there my friends! I’m excited to share a special project with you. I’m a firm believer in the power of words. They can uplift, inspire, and encourage, or they can tear down, demean, and destroy. It’s important to me to fill my mind with inspiring and uplifting words each day. I do that through reading scriptures and talks by church leaders, but I also love good quotes, so I made a DIY Quote Book!
This DIY quote book stands on a work surface, counter or dresser where you can see it everyday. You can flip through the different quotes to remind you of good vibes and positive thoughts.
The book covers are 6×6 chipboard sheets that I covered with patterned paper from the Maggie Holmes Heritage collection. I embellished the cover with some gold American Crafts Thickers, and stickers from the Maggie Holmes Day to Day collection.
The
inside pages are also from the Maggie Holmes Day-to-Day collection. I trimmed them down to 6×6 inches so they fit into the book. The book is divided into three themes, and I made a title for each of the themes with my new
Lowercase Word Punch Board and
Icon Punches. The pages in each section include a
quote sticker that I love from the Maggie Holmes Day-to-Day collection. The quotes fit with the theme for each section of the book. I’ll continue to add to each section when I come across a quote I love that fits the themes.
The first theme is “work hard”. The first quote for that section says, ” Great things are done by a series of small things brought together.”
The theme of the next section is “be kind”. I love the cute serif font of the Lowercase Word Punch Board, and the Icon Punches add such a fun look too! The first quote for this theme is, “Do all things with kindness and love”.
I embellished my inside pages with
washi tape,
stickers, and
sticky notes from the Day-to-Day collection. I love to layer them up to create a unique collage cluster on each page.
The last theme in my quote book is “be you”. The first quote for this section says, “Be your own kind of beautiful”. I also added some phrase stickers that say, “Shine bright” and “You are enough”.
This will sit on the desk in my office so I can keep adding quotes and display different ones each day. I love having positive and uplifting thoughts within eyesight throughout my house. It definitely lifts and inspires me when I see them.
Thanks for stopping by. If you make a project with the new Lowercase Punch Board or Icon Punches I’d love to see! Share it online and tag me. Happy crafting friends!
