One of my favorite traditions this time of year is my gratitude journal. For a few weeks in November I keep a daily record of the things I’m thankful for leading up to Thanksgiving Day. It’s really helped me to focus on the positive and see the good, both totally transformative ways of thinking. I’ve done this for several years and I realized I’ve never shared my 2018 gratitude journal. Let me show you!
My gratitude journals are usually pretty bulky as I like to add photos, memborabilia, pockets, and other goodies. I decided to disassemble my journal notebook using the Supreme Ruler and my craft knife, and then bind it back together with The Cinch to allow for more bulk. I simply cut right down the center on the middle page. The craft knife cut through easily. I used the new 1″ black Cinch wires to bind my notebook because they match the black accents in the Journal Studio collection.
I created tab dividers from some patterned papers with the Tab Punch Board, and then added some divider stickers to some of the notebook pages.
I also used The Cinch to add an ephemera card that I embellished with some washi tape, stickers, and the Journal Studio Magnetic Alphabet Stencils.
I added these inserts after I had already bound my journal–it was a bit of an afterthought, LOL! But that didn’t cause a single problem–Planner Punch Board to the rescue!
I created one page as an introduction explaining my goals and purpose for this gratitude journal. I included a current photo of me, and I embellished the spread with the Journal Guide, Interchangeable Stamps, ephemera and stickers.
I love that there are so many options and supplies available for customizing journals. I’m excited about getting my gratitude journal going this year–I can’t wait to get started!
