2021 planner: january, week 1

My focus word for 2021 is “thrive”. Part of that includes thriving physically by taking good care of my body. This year I’ve had some health issues that have required me to pay more careful attention to my blood pressure, my weight, my heart rate and my cholestoral. I track my meals, calories and water intake, and I want to record all that in my planner. To do that in a creative way I combined a couple of my favorite We R Memory Keepers tools. Check it out!

One of my favorite tools for customizing planner, journals, handmade cards, gift wrap, etc is the Word Punch Board. It’s a genius alphabet punch system that comes in upper and lower case punches with additional punch sets for numbers, symbols, and icons. The punch board has slots to hold up to nine punch inserts so you can mix and match letters, numbers, symbols and icons to say exactly what you want.

On this spread for week 1 of January 2021 I used uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and icons punches. I’m focusing this post on how I used the icon punches set, which includes a few emojis. These emojis are perfect for tracking your goals, habits, and moods in your planner or journal. But, they don’t come cut out in circles like they are in my planner, and I really wanted them cut out in circles. So after punching the faces I used my Mini Evolution and the nesting stitched circle dies that come with it to cut them out.

You can see the key on the left of the spread: pink heart eyes happy face means I logged my calories and water intake, mint happy face means I logged either calories or water intake, and the blue sad face means my log is incomplete.

I made a large batch of these emojis in one sitting so I’m ready to track for the whole month of January. I used a glue pen to add adhesive to the back before placing them in my planner.
If you’re a planner or you like to make handmade cards and gift wrap, the Word Punch Boards are the perfect tools. They give you the creative freedom to say exactly what you want, and I love that! Thanks for stopping by, and happy crafting.
