Are you ready for all things golden, rainbow, green and lucky? St. Patrick’s Day is just around the corner, and I’ve got a fun idea for some gift boxes you can fill with treats or a small gift. These DIY rainbow color gift boxes are each topped with a fun mixed media 3D four leaf clover, a tag, and some embellishments. They’re easy to make and make great party favors for an at-home St. Patrick’s Day celebration. Check out how I made them below.
To make the gift boxes I browsed through all my patterned paper to find semi solid papers in rainbow colors. I followed the instructions on my We R Memory Keepers 123 Punch Board to create 4×4 inch boxes. Easy peasy! (By the way, this punch board also makes envelopes, bows, file folder cards, box envelopes and much more. Worth the investment!)
Then I made the four leaf clovers for each box. Perfect for St. Patrick’s Day, right?
I started by selecting my marker colors in yellow, light green, and forest green. I used the Cordless Marker Airbrush to apply the colors to a piece of white cardstock, making sure to cover the area completely. I love how the airbrushing creates some texture and dimension to the leaves! So cool.
Be sure the Cordless Marker Airbrush is fully charged. You’ll need a USB power source for that. The light will be solid blue once when it’s ready to use.
Once the ink dried, which didn’t take long, I die cut four heart shapes for each box using my Revolution Die Cutting and Embossing Machine and a heart die. You could also do this step with an electronic cutting machine. Then I scored each heart down the middle using my Mini Score Board to add some dimension, making the clover leaves more realistic.
I tied the boxes with coordinating baker’s twine, adhered the clover leaves to the boxes with dimensional foam adhesive, and added a tag and some gold star sequins to finish them off. I love how they turned out!
I filled mine with chocolates, but you could fill yours with a small gift like handmade soap, hand sanitizer, a pretty candle, or some cozy socks.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope this project has inspired your St. Patty’s Day crafting. Wishing you a rainbow of happiness and good cheer. Scroll down for links to buy.
