DIY Summer Journal

Summer is coming quickly and I can’t wait for warm weather, flip flops, lazy mornings, and barbecues! With all the fun things going on in the summer it’s important to me to capture and record our memories, so I’ve put together a DIY Summer Journal! I can add photos, journaling, memorabilia and mementos from our summer adventures in this interactive, fun memory journal. I made this with some scrapbooking papers and a few of my favorite We R Memory Keepers tools. Take a look inside!

I love to have a variety of pages in my journals so this one has some patterned paper, copy paper, envelopes, tags, flaps, and plenty of space for photos and journaling.

I used the Maggie Holmes Heritage Paper Pad which includes tons of beautiful vintage style patterns with rose gold accents. The papers are single sided, so I added blocks of patterned paper to the back of some of the inside pages.

I also included 11 sheets of plain white copy paper, which is the perfect place for stamping, journaling, and photos. The Mini Evolution Floral Stamp, Die, and Emboss Kit was perfect for creating custom embellishments for the cover and inside pages.

The Mini Precision Press makes stamping a breeze, and using stamps always helps make the most of your supplies!

Small detail scissors are perfect for fussy cutting the beautiful patterns in the paper pad.

The Envelope Punch Board was the perfect way to make room for additional photos and memorabilia.

Interactive elements like flaps and inserts are fun, create visual interest, and add extra room for photos and journaling. Washi tape is a great way to add those into a journal.

I also stitched two large envelopes that I made with the Envelope Punch Board directly into the pages of the journal (see photos below). This is another great place for additional photos or journaling.

I used the We R Memory Keepers Book Binding Guide to stitch all the pages together. Check out the rest of the inside pages for additional inspiration!

Thanks for stopping by. Make your own journal, mini book or scrapbook and tag me if you share it online. Enjoy documenting your summer memories!
